VI International Symposium EC-Russia: Co-operation in Biotechnology, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Food in the 7th Framework Programme

The key issues discussed at the symposium were the organization and prospects of scientific and technical cooperation between Russia and EU in the 7th Framework Programme, in particular: industrial biotechnology, plants for the future, forestry, fisheries and aquacultures, food for life and animal health.

The Second International congress and exhibition EurasiaBio-2010 took place in Moscow from 12 to 15 April, 2010 (www.eurasiabio.org).

The EurasiaBIO Partnering Congress&EXPO is an annual global event for Biotechnology and Renewable Energy in Russia and countries of the CIS. The Congress was hosted by the Yu.A. Ovchynnikov Russian Biologists Society. EurasiaBio-2010 offered an unparalleled opportunity for biotechnology, pharmaceutical and energy companies, academic research institutions, and investors from around the world to gather in one place at the same time to learn about each other, meet face to face, and discuss business opportunities of mutual interest. The event brought together leading experts on biotechnology, as well as representatives of science, business and governmental organizations from Russia and more than 40 countries.

The organizers of the symposium were: the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, Russian National Contact Point on FP7-TP2 «Food, Agriculture and Biotechnology» (Bio-NCP of Russia) and representatives from Brandenburg and North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
